Season's Greetings Dec. 1989

My very dear ones:

Some of you will be surprised to learn that I have recently moved back to Southern California, after living 10 very happy years in Santa Rosa. I knew it would be difficult, for it meant leaving Lillian, the Karras (Jo and George), my nieces, Marie and Suzanne, their families and the friends I had made while living there. However, I do believe they will understand why I chose to live closer to my children . . . David and Roz, Justin and Jenny my grandchildren. My lovely home in Oakmont had more space than I now need and the garden took more work and time than I had been able to give. When I came down to Malibu in April for a visit, David and I looked, and found, what we both thought would be the ideal place for me to live; a Mobile Home Park at Point Dume, and only ten minutes to David's place! My new home is very close to everything I need; plus a spectacular view of the Ocean (with unbelievable, awesome sunsets) and the Santa Monica Mountains!

Meanwhile, Roz was changing locations. After 28 years with Time Life Books it was time to retire and move to a warmer climate --- Tucson, Arizona. She is now closer to her daughter Laurie, son-in-law Hugh, their darling little son, Alex James, and to us here in Malibu. Alex is Roz's first grand-child and my first great grand-child. He is 19 months old and an adorable little boy. I am very proud of my family and Dr. Thind would be too. We all feel his love, guidance and protection every day of our lives. How very blessed we are to have been a part of his life. His books are still being carried by the book distributors "De Vorss & Co." in nearby Marina del Rey. They sell slowly, but surely, thanks to David for continuing to advertise in their yearly catalog. The books and other writings are stored in David's home. They are on hand as needed. Three of Doctor's devoted disciples are still teaching his work; Helene Vreeland in Santa Barbara; Mr. Ambrister in Detroit, and Rosea Lee who gives breathing class at NYC as often as she can. This wonderful lady is in her 89th year. It gives me such joy when I hear from the devoted students, telling me how very grateful they are for his Teachings. God Bless You!

I took two trips this year besides the few taken up and down the Coast. The first one was to Tucson to meet Roz in February. We had a good visit and I had the opportunity to see the model of the home she had chosen as well as the selections she made for it. After four and one-half days spent with her, I flew to Guaymas in N.W. Mexico to visit Marie and Ernest who have a lovely home surrounded by water in a secluded section of San Carlos. My brother, Frank and Elly from Oregon were also visiting at that time and we reminisced about the good ole' days. Marie and Ernest also have a new baby grand-daughter, Michelle, who was born to Roger and Lisa this year. So, Frank and Elly are now Great Grandparents also. This family is growing!!!! My eldest Grandson, John, is still living on Kauai. He is truly an "Island Son" and always will be, I am sure. I would enjoy seeing him more often, however, we do keep in touch.

I am so grateful to all my loved ones, wherever you are . . . North, South, East and West, as well as overseas. You, fulfill my life with your love, concern and my special needs. I do miss seeing those of you who are afar, but on the other hand, I have my loved ones close by . . . the Thinds here and in Duarte . . . dear Isabel and my good friends in the Southland. Roz is so much closer to me now than she has been for many years. I feel all is well with me.

The other trip I took this year was with my very precious friend Lillian. Twenty-five days out of September were spent together touring parts of Central Europe. We visited the Capitals and much of the countrysides of Austria, Hungary, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia. We were in Prague when the first group of refugees arrived from East Germany to make their way to the West. It was exciting to see a bit of history in the making. I could go on and on about this trip but it would take pages. The changes that are taking place so rapidly in these countries are almost unbelievable. Freedom is the very essence of Democracy. It lives in the hearts and minds of every one and must be expressed.

My deep felt wishes are that you will keep well and happy and share of yourselves. As Teacher quoted so often "to serve our fellow man when needed, is to serve God!" My family and I send our love to you and yours. May your Christmas be joyous and each day of the New Year fulfilled with all that is good for your personal growth and well being.
