1970 Greetings

1971

Out of the pages of our book of memories we hold dear, we greet you and yours this Holiday Season. Neither time nor space can sever the ties which bind our special relationship in such a loving way.

I feel so blessed remembering the years that this family and our Beloved Teacher's disciples have shared together. I need only close my eyes to see the panorama of every important event that has taken place in the passing years-- in the Light of Today.

Never was there a time when Peace in this world was more craved for; but only within ourselves can it truly be found. Never was there such a restlessness to achieve a better way of life for peoples everywhere. However, if the methods are not right, the ends cannot be right and enduring. We have been witnessing much of this today. It becomes difficult to say "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" when the world is disturbed with such enormous complexities. But overcome we must. Let us each try to set forth an example for right living and sharing.

All that we have learned from our Teacher was illustrated by his life and living. The greatest gift of our life was our initiation-- being put on the Path of the "Radiant Road" which leads to our own Godhead. There can be no greater blessing than to intimately know Our Father-- Our Source. This is the goal for each of us. By the grace of God and Guru and the devotion and determination of the Seeker, the Way is before us.

Doctor has left us a legacy in his teachings and his many writings. Many of you have not only been a great help to me in the distribution of Doctor's writings, but have been a great inspiration by your devoted lives. I know I have said this before, but my gratitude bears repeating.

Many of you also know that Doctor had been writing a book, "Winners and Whiners in This Whirling World." Two years ago Grace Schaefer of Wilmington, Deleware, offered to type this work, left in his handwriting. She has completed about half of the material. What a gesture of loving devotion, and what a dedicated lady is she! Some of the first manuscripts were sent to Mildred Taylor, leader of the New York group, (who has been Doctor's disciple longest, and whose advice I greatly respect) where it was read and shared in her class. I have decided to put these last words of Doctor's wisdom in discourses of approximately fifteen pages each. There will probably be 20 discourses or more when completed.

Will those of you who wish to receive this series please let me know as soon as possible, so we can know how many sets to prepare? The charge will be nominal, I assure you, and whatever will be forthcoming beyond the actual expense, including handling and postage, will go into the Book Fund, which will be used to further Doctor's work.

The highlight of 1970, for me, was my trip East, at the end of May. My meetings with the New York City class as well as with the group in Detroit were privileges I shall long cherish. Dear ones were so gracious to me everywhere I went. Several places and friends I had hoped to visit on this trip I could not, because of lack of time. David and I also enjoyed our one Sat Sang this year in San Jose.

May I say how grateful I am for all your holiday letters and cards and for your devotion and love sent throughout the past year. Here again, perhaps, I have at times failed to answer everyone as I should have-- this year, as the past one, has been extra busy. However I have always read each letter with much joy and gratitude.

We are all well, by God's grace-- and we hope this greeting finds you the same, and that good health continues to grace you in the years ahead.

May our joy in Christmas be yours in memory of the past and in the glowing welcome of the future-- for near or far, we still can reach you with our hearts.

With our love and God's blessings,

Vivian Thind and Family
